I'm all ears BJ....If you could shed some light on the subject I'm certainly interested.....looks like the evening movie will have to go on hold and some clicking of the keyboard take its place. Usually only research hidden gold mines....but flat tires, or lack of, is worthy of some spare idle time on a cold, wet, windy night. ;)

Wal.

Few different types available. I use the MO-TOW brand and find they're the lightest to put onto the roof rack when not in use. They slide into a standard Hayman Reese tow bar, and I'm in the process of making a bracket to raise the bike above the standard bumper bar of the Troopy for those "extreme" creek crossings where the carrier can scrape.

Looks good!!

Now you've got a big problem Twaps....can I suggest getting a bigger truck for starters, and maybe a small front end loader....   :D

LOL at Twapster,
.
Just looking on Evilbay and by the time you buy a decent postie bike, Not much more for a T-Rex.

Blank that trike right of your mind Twaps.. ;) Cant straddle ruts and the place is full of ruts...If you get one, get a full set of body armor as you'll be spending much of the day lying in the ditches.. :D

Lol still cracking up! The more I look at the T-Rex the more I want one....

Maybe the wife can ride something like this to work!

You got wayyy to much time on your hands Twaps....still some great looking yachts amongst that lot. :D

G'day all that I found to be the best bike is the postie but with the Ag motor The postie came out in two models , the more common 4 speed that the posties use or the Ag model which has also a 4 speed plus hi and low range as well.
I have two of them and rebuilding a third and use them up on our leases in north Qld were the hills are very steep and the low range and nobly tyres works a treat.
Where we go Quads would be unsafe due to the risk of rolling over.
With carrying gear I strap on the pick and tool kit on the back carry rack and the detector go's in a backpack
Cheers Greg

I was wondering about the hi/low model and if they were still in existence.
.
Unfortunately Honda have stopped producing the "Postie" bike and another company is producing a similar bike for them.
It is not as good as the Honda bike.

Got to agree with you Greg on the one with the hi/low is the better model. That's what I had. Have you had a chance to try out a T Rex up that way at all???. Gears are certainly not as low as the AG version Postie. Just curious of another opinion on the comparison.

Wal.

Hi Walnliz sorry I have not riden a T Rex so I can not give you a comparison .I have just stuck with the posties as I only have to carry one set of spares for all three bikes and all parts are mostly interchangable and easy to get. And that works well for me. cheers Greg

No worries Greg. You've got some good transport with that bike, and it sure beats walking kilometers up those hills. Take care up there.

Wal.

Loaded and ready for action, just need a spot for the detector.

All jokes aside I may just have to buy a postie bike as well now....heaps of them at Auctions here almost every week and not very expensive, will give me something to work on rather than scouring (wasting time on) the internet all morning for cool looking motorbikes.

Hey Wal,
Have u seen this one .. pretty compact & convenient.... check it out.
I can only send you a search to enter into google & not the direct youtube link as I am a newbie ....

Die wohl coolste und leichteste Motocross

( type this into google & take a look at the youtube that is in the list )

Got it on my face book page Yak. If the tires could be foam filled, I'd sell the T Rex tomorrow. ;)

For where you're going in the Leonora region, and for the missus to take to work you're making a wise decision. Postie will serve you perfectly. With the gold you find you can buy a T Rex and come over to the Kimberly with us the following year if you like. ;)
