Big wave google "Tent Cot", mine cost $390 for the oversize, it comes with fly etc, haven't had any probs with condensation even in really cold weather, use it when away with pilot/escort work, cheers NKND :)

Kulkyne Big Boy swag is great. Love side entry (both sides) and end ventilation if required. I team mine with a 100cm Darche xl stretcher. Makes for very comfortable night. Quick to put up.

Hey all,

Got myself a new double swag, only came with a 50mm matress.
So i got a cheap egg shell foam matress topper but it didnt cut it.
End up with a sore back in the morning.

Seems that some people use a self inflating mat, others get a better quality egg shell foam and others get another
50mm high density matress to go underneath.

So chasing recommendations on what people have done to fix their nights sleep?

Thanks

i have one much the same as this (have a single swag so i cut mine in half and made a new cover)
ebay Double Swag Black Comfortable Tent Mattress around $140

I use a self-inflating mattress in an oztrail swag which I find comfortable. Always had problems with airbeds deflating overnight whereas the self-inflator has not give any problems, however it was a fair bit more than an airbed.

The thermorest self inflatable mats (or their clones) have given me a better nights sleep than any foam mat did. But what improves the sleep experience no matter which mat you choose is the old hip and shoulder scrape in the ground under your swag or tent. Try it - it works ;)

Neo, lets compare apples with apples.
Which swag do you have?
My Dune has a fine foam matt supplied, I always sleep well, unless frozen, never feel uncomfortable.

I use a stretcher, put my swag on top of that.
Also got a self inflating mattress. So, in the dry, I have stretcher, SIM,then swag on top.
Im getting softer as I get older!
In cooler climates, I have a light weight sleeping bag inside my normal sleeping bag, inside my swag, inside my trailer!

I bought one of the double kings swags. Absolutely rapped with the quality. Just needs a better matress. Or addition to the matress.

That's funny, most people rave about them, never heard anything bad.
About a week after I got my dune swag some fella showed me his Kings one, it looked great and was heaps cheaper.
He raved about how well he slept in it.
One thing I do is put those click together foam mats under the swag, that's mainly to insulate against the vic high country cold though.
Anaconda sell dune roll up mattress's, not cheap though, but everyone that has them never shuts up about them.

Being a side sleeper with a dodgy back I don't fare too well on anything less than a bed, the ultimate setup I have found for overnighters on the bike is a Thermarest NeoAir Dream self inflating mat on top of a Helinox One cot. Just depends on how much a good nights sleep is worth to you.....

Well im getting all this setup for a month long detecting trip to WA.
So 30 odd night in a row in the swag.... I need to make sure im comfy! lol
