Strange Tech query Vic Grand Final

Hi,
Have a serviceman mate currently in the Middle East....
He's asked me to record the Grand Final day TV programming, Nth Melb Breakfast, lead up programs and of course the Grand Final.
Can record the whole day on Foxtel .....
BUT, have no idea if that can in any way be transferred, resent or otherwise saved on other than the Foxtel box.
Any help suggestions would be welcomed.
Don't need to send it to him over there, worst case he'll have to grab a slab or 2 and sit here for a day (with someone to carry him home afterwards) ..... his state may depend on the result being a long time Footscray supporter.

try external usb hard drive ..... should do the job ....

How do you connect it to the Foxtel box?

get the foxtel app on the pc, login with your account, record straight on a usb hard drive
connecting on the usb straight on the box ain`t available

if ain`t working, get a dvr card from any pc shop , connect coax from foxtel straight to dvr on pc , record

I think that you will find that everything that is recorded to the Foxtel box is copyright protected so it cant be done.

I have tried to record some of the pay to view movies on Foxtel and they failed-probably why .

Can see he might have to just watch what's recorded on the set top box here.
Thanks for the suggestions, will have a fiddle but don't have much time to experiment.
