stony creek..?

Hey all! Has anyone ever checked out stony creek warrandyte? It leads into the yarra. .on the bend....I've never panned there but it seems like a better option than Andersons creek

Sorry to revive an old thread, but wanted to put some info out there.

We hit stony creek today.

Is there gold? Yes. Is it worth it? No.

We spent 2hrs panning. We found lots of black sand and hit some really promising spots. At best, we found about 5 or 6 specs. There is a bit of SUPER fine gold.

Even if you're a local, your time is better spent driving out to, say, Ballarat or Bendigo area.
