Joao have you tried putting acid on it to see if it is calcareous? Try vinegar and see if it bubbles.

Perhaps a interesting tit bit on carbonates, contrary to a lot of solutions, carbonates precipitate more so in hot water. Tis why "hard" water (likely to be a calcium carbonate solution) is such a problem in hot water pipes ie Plumbers Nightmare. That is a interesting rock for sure
