Well, i did go back, and put in another big day cgs
After all, it is a numbers game
To start with, the wind was moderate to fresh, and i was having trouble keeping all the ground noises quiet. TIDs were everywhere once again, and i was on what appeared to be a very quiet stretch (good target wise) of the beach. Now the sun was high, the wind was up and the tide was still going out and i was struggling to find any dig numbers. My batteries were had it so i took the opportunity to go back to the car for a break, drink and to reassess the strategy.
After a refreshing break i went back and started moving lower on the beach, towards the water. I had previously been working the high dry sand with no success.
I was struggling there also, and had to keep adjusting settings on a regular basis, but every time i adjusted i would at least get a few targets before going through the process all over again. It was almost like i had auto ground balance (which i don't), and the machine would balance out on the signals
Anyway i managed to get it relatively smooth by winding the sensitivity back to 12, which i think kept it above the seepage level. :Y: I started to get targets, and was quite satisfied with the progress. I got what i thought was a ring
but it turned out to be a piece of copper pipe someone had cut :brokenh: A little further along i got another ring object
It was full of crust but a wash has hinted at maybe the best ring so far
fingers crossed. It was about 5pm when all of a sudden the wind dropped out, and everything went CLEAR
i set the machine back to factory pushed the sensitivity up to 16 and every swing was quiet and crystal clear
arty: I could even use max sens, and swing in the wet sand and it stayed quiet, that's when i started popping coins one after the other :rainbow: I went back over the mornings ground and sure enough targets galore ]
