Ive been preparing for my annual pilgrimage south to the GT via various gold fields along the way and as usual I have been looking at potential site-seeing opportunities and came across Burning Mountain just off the New England Hwy near Wingen. Apparently a coal seam has been burning and smoking underground for 5500 years and hence the name.
I had a gander at the NPWS website and as per normal, it lists the conditions of use and these are:
PROHIBITED:
1) Pets
2) Smoking
So be warned all you heathen smokers, no lighting up your **** as your passive smoke may endanger the local wildlife!
