Ten posts buddy, just be careful out in that area, there are some historic overlays to be observed. Further south will find you in good stead, and back toward town. I've never detected whroo so I'm not a huge help there, deep lead mining was where they found their volumes, and alot of the alluvial areas were heavily worked. There's some good alluvial deposits( no water though) and old shallower mines between the back of schade lane and peppercorn lane in town. I was helping out there not long ago with some newbie types running a 5k, don't know if they got anything after we dug a whopping great piece of steel out of the ground, but if you walk around in that general area you'll see what I'm talking about. Hard ground at this time of year. If you have any luck just go to the butchers and pay for a steak in advance, thats where the real gold is every day of the week! I'm mates with the sons of one of the butchers. I take home a meat pack everytime I'm passing through. Publicly that's a much as I'd like to say gotta keep some spots secret. There's some pretty substantial mullochs further south of whroo that ive never gotten to, just keep the gps handy if you decide to head that way. Google earth is your friend. Cheers GT.
