Hey Old Mate :)
Yer it was from home again :(
Gave narra a call :Y: and between us will put something together .Thanks for your offer :D

Yep nothings safe anymore , the small towns here, i used to recognise or know 95% of the people , now 5% at the most and that 5% of locals say the same . As for the theft of a gold pick that sucks but i reckon its probably been happening ever since digging for gold started , so really you have became a part of crappy historical tradition ;)

You should be able to leave your stuff in your ute. I am in a place where you dont have to lock anything but will be heading back to a place where if its not bolted down it will get lifted.

Keep the dog food in the back of the ute Dam it, that way the dog won't let anyone near its food ,.. insures success with any good for nothing turner lol. :Y: ]:D :Y:

I have No Respect for thieves no matter what their excuses for stealing are! ( Drug habit etc. ).

Around 8 years ago i pulled into my driveway with a trailer connected to my 4WD, disconnected it and left in driveway.
Within in about 45 secs a passing car pulled up and i could tell he was about to steal my trailer.
When he seen me come running from the back of the house he left in a hurry.
Only 18 months ago i caught the lady who use to rent next door trying to break in to my work ute, she is a mother of two young children and husband works full-time.

An old work mate from a few years ago had his caravan stolen from the front yard while he was away interstate visiting family.
My local newspaper is reporting a 40 % increase in break ins to cars and homes this last 12 months and thats just reported crimes.
Reasons stated in the article are increasing unemployment, rising living costs & Drug use. :N: :( 8.(

I think penalties for crime and drug use need to be high enough to halt crime. :Y:

True Silver, when we give the dog a bone we can't even get within 20ft of the Cocker--turns into a killer!!!! :Y:

100% agree with swinging and digging re: penalties.

I was talking to a bloke a few months ago who used to live in East Germany before the fall of the wall.
Everybody worked, everybody got paid and there was very, very, very little crime. And his reason was that you knew if you committed a crime you knew you would be punished.

Then the wall fell, the borders were opened and he said it went to *****. Crime, drugs, murders, etc.

Now I'm not suggesting we turn to communism and capital punishment but when there is a penalty that is actually commensurate with the crime it does actual deter people from committing crimes. Why authorities think a slap on the wrist and 10 chances to change your ways is a deterrent is beyond me.

Just my opinion.

Teach everyone doing it hard how to grow a garden and teach them how to barter and exchange goods, take anyone who gets caught stealing or doing drugs to a retraining facility where they must adjust in accordance with societies values in order to be let free. ;)

I was a victim in a Road Rage incident at a service station around 3 years ago?
Impatient angry person behind me in the line up gets angry at me just because everyone else is filling up?

Anyway i told him be nice and wait your turn just like the rest of us!
He then threatened to kill me, his old man who was in another car comes over and tells me to watch out as the angry man has already done three jail terms for murder and is more than happy to spend another stint in jail? ]:D

It pays to keep your mouth shut when angry people are around.
Suggested to my Local Police station that the angry ones causing road rage should be made to do anger management course, to which they agree. ;)

Not wanting to sound biblical at all, but a couple of cities with no policing where criminals can live in peace without fear of incarceration (unless they step outside the boundries where capital punishment then takes over) would put an end to all our problems ,... as long as a criminal can make it into one of those cities they are free from the threat of prosecution, and free from the threat of being hunted down at any time. I bet that before too long those cities would be highly organised within themselves. ;)
edit, anyone wanting to not go to the cities could be allowed into the city farmlands that feed and support the rest, but no further, and they would have to be able to prove themselves for even that ,... that would be like the only other option available to those that could be reformable :Y:

They have areas like this in Europe and Detroit ( USA ).
Real shame Australia has declined to a standard where this is a real possibility.

Southside of Cairns is having a real problem with youth crime at the moment. Gangs of them roaming around stealing and often attacking, bashing locals and tourist who assume its a safe place. Some times even wrse things but wont go into it. Offenders are usually multiple repeat offenders who get let off to do it again.
