Satellite Internet can be Good Value.
In these times of Storms & Floods it`s not such a bad alternative to ADSL or WiFi.
If your in a location where Wifi and Internet lines is not available.
The phone lines and optic fiber cables are down or the under ground pitts are filled with water and The Power is out.
You can use your genny to power up your satellite modem and PC.

Access the World with internet & wifi / VoLte mobile phone calling and what`s app will work if you don`t have that mobile feature.
The download & upload speeds these days using satellite are fairly good these days.
Sometimes the connection can take a few minutes or so for the next passing Fly in the Sky but it`s not really an issue.

Flooded in here for a while it seems and the power & phone has been down for a day.
I just kick the genny in every 6 hours or so to power the fridge & retain the frozen foods.
Great alternative worth considering if you live in a semi remote area.

Hi Bush,
It is my understanding that starlink will contract with optus, providing mobile coverage x satellite.
I read for approximately the end of 2025.

I don't know the details but if so, and the project proves up to provide the coverage that telstra mobile offers for remote prospecting it will be a great change and great value.

I bought the Starlink Mini because it uses a lot less power but still performs well. We recently took a trip south from Cue to Ora Banda about 500km or so. For the entire trip south Mrs M sat in the LH seat and watched the footy, tennis or whatever was on. The dish was just sitting on a cushion on the dash looking out through the windscreen. It should be aligned for perfect internet but as long as it's facing about south it connects and gets excellent bandwidth and speed, way better than the NBN I've experienced.

Of course the telephone just connects as normal using WiFi to the Starlink. She had to wait until we stopped to get internet when we were heading north but it takes less than a minute to connect. It uses so little power that sometimes I just leave the 2000w inverter and Starling connected overnight. The last trip I did alone down the Northam so I took my Hyundai towing the plane. I didn't even pack the normal Satellite dish, I just watched live TV on the internet and if I want the big screen then I just connect the projector to the laptop with the HDMI cable.
