ok guys so I need some pointers...I want to build a small recirculating sluice...I have an angus mackirk recon and was thinking two tubs ie 40L joined together by a PVC pipe with a filter to prevent too much sediment being sucked up by the bilge pump...problem I'm thinking is that the water may not flow quick enough from the deposit tub into the bilge pump tub....anyone have experience or seen them work....I was thinking by having two tubs it would mean being able to run a bit more without clogging the bilge. any tips much appreciated

your two bucket idea is the way to go, I built one last year for my backpack sluice for camp cleanups. I used a 60 litre bucket $9 sams warehouse
with a pipe at mid level spilling into a smaller bucket with the bilge inside, by keeping the pipe at mid water level you avoid all the floaty bits getting in your bucket as well as you can run until your bigger bucket is half full of tailings.

The pipe feeding your bilge bucket should be larger than the one that transfers water for your sluice.

ok perfect thanks guys! I will check cheapo stores thi arvo now...
pretty much going to be a tester for Glendons... always dry Creek there but figured because it's patchy gold I could run this at the dig site with crevice material etc...If gold is found them fill the buckets and take em down to the dam for the highbanker
