I'm looking at swinging the 5000 around in south or central Qld during June.
Trying to get out of the cold in NSW for a couple of weeks, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

I've never detected in QLD before. I travel in 4x4 and I'm self sufficient.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Even better if someone wants to catch up for a beer.

Regards

No trip to Clermont GPAs for detecting is complete without a trip to Rubyvale to dig for sapphires or just to look at the gallery or go down one of the mine tours.

Love the area but have not spent enough time there to give comprehensive advice.

Getting there is half the adventure in my books.

Enjoy

Hey mate,

I appreciate the offer. I was considering heading Gympie way. To be honest I'm not to knowledgable on Qld, but I'd love to swing for at least 1 to 2 weeks.

Got to be in it to win it.

I know the triangle in vic really well as I grew up down that way, frankly though I want to escape the cold. Hence the trip to qld. I just don't have the time to go to nth qld.

Thanks for the reply mate,

Sounds interesting (rubyvale). I will try and pencil it in, although I am just chasing the yellow.

There are 9 separate general permission areas in the Clermont area where landholders have given general permission for fossicking. You must purchase a Fossickers kit from the Clermont Detectors. This kit serves as a permit to traverse over the general permission areas of the state forests. The kit includes detailed maps of each of the areas. Stickers included in this kit must be attached to your vehicle's rear window.
