prospecting near Urbenville Northern NSW

HI all

Family and I are heading to Levuka park near Urbenville , Northern NSW for the long weekend. I was wondering if anybody has suggestions on places to prospect/pan that are close by. I noticed there are some state forests nearby where you can go with a permit.

Tooloom area or Paddys Flat / Pretty Gully area.
Tooloom is pretty locked up with most gold on private land. You can go for broke around Paddys flat /Pretty Gully.
You could also head to Drake and Ewingar but you'll need State forest permit to fossick/prospect.

Hey Big Nev, just wondering how you went around these areas? We are about to head that way and may stay a night or two at a free camp near Urbenville. I noticed there is a state forest right near the camp at Urbenville however after lots of research it seems the area is not gold or gem bearing. Looks like the closest areas are where Elrodeo has suggested. We have also marked these spots on our maps and will be giving them a go.
