I have two passions in life, prospecting and photography actually I have three, but my partner would rather that I dont mention the third one!
I hook up my van and go walkabout for about 6 months every year. I usually detect or pan/sluice during the days and go photographing at night.
Anyway, my style of photography has gravitated to a technique called light painting. What this entails is that I take multiple images of a subject and illuminate different portions of it at a time and then blend them in Photoshop. I mostly use an ordinary LED torch or several ganged strobes fired simultaneously as my only light source.
If youre interested in prospecting then Im sure that youll recognise some of these iconic landmarks. These were all taken in the one area, so let's see who among you recognise them. ...
I'll post some more a little later that may be easier to identify.

For those that are still scratching their heads and wondering where the previous three images were taken, here are three more of the same area. If you've visited this place and STILL can't recognise the place, then you've been concentrating too much on what's on the ground and not what's around you.
A couple of happy snaps with the Ipad from behind the caravan park in Tibooburra. A decent photographer would be in their element up there.

OK, the first two posts were all of Hill End. I'm rather disappointed that nobody recognised some of the images, particularly the one of Louis Beyers hut considering you have to drive past it to get to the Village Campground.
HippyProspecting, I use a Canon 5Dmk11 DSLR and generally each exposure is about 15 seconds @ f8 and will vary the ISO depending on the subject to torch/flash distance.
This next lot were taken in the NSW Snowy Mountains, and yes that's a selfie of the Olphart at the campfire.
