Location
West of the Yarra, East of SA,
Had an hour or so to kill so tried the 705 at Pt Melb (sometimes known as Sandridge) Beach.
Just switched it on (AM mode) and went for it, no fiddling with settings.
Only 2 x $2 and an Irish 10 cent euro of all things, the rest just junk for the bin.
Cheers Tom

G'day Tom.
I took my new ATX out to Brighton Beach Sunday morning. Spent the drizzly time croozin along the beachfront checkin out the babes walking and riding.
The young bloke with me appreciated the scenery, (he wasn't on his own).
Told him when the rain stopped, whatever coins we found were his. Any jewellery was to be mine.
No photos, but in an hour, amongst other things, we found over 20 bottle/stubby lids, 2 hair pins, a few bits of foil, 1 champagne cork wire and 15cents, all in up to 22" or so.
My mate came out in front with the 15cents.

Cheers, Ron.

Good depth with that ATX ... those tinfoil scraps worry me, probably get a reaction if a sniifer dog went walking by ....
Assume if that much stuff as there perhaps it hadn't been detected recently (or they discriminate better?) ... sure that ring and jewelery will be found next time.
Cheers Tom

Seems like all these beaches are raked flat overnight, or at least on the weekends.
Not sure if this has an effect on what's left.
You'd have to think that with the depth achieved so far, jewelery etc up to 20" or more would have to be a synch.
Heck, when I hired that ATX over Christmas, the best I managed was 1/3 to 1/2 of a ring pull at nearly 24". I doubt I could make a habit of it though. It wasn't much of a signal.
Haven't tried the 20" coil yet. Might give it a run next Sunday.
Cheers, Ron.
