Please help Identify!

Gday all, apologies if this is a dumb question but I cant find much on these,
What are the little magnetic balls Im getting in my gold pan? They look too small to be shotty pellets. They come in a lot of black sand. Any help would be great :Y: :Y: cheers, Trent :beer:

Spinel is mildly magnetic sometimes.

You mention magnetic, probably ironstone. Give one a smack with a hammer, if it shatters, ironstone.
