Places to detect for gold near mackay help.

Hi all , I've had a SDC 2300 for a few weeks now . i have been detecting at a few old gold mines but so fare no luck except for bullets and junk. Was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Hi Anyway, try the search function on the forum or look at the google map overlay showing gold mines etc.
Another good resource is minview or digs

Welcome to the forum, have a look athttps://www.business.qld.gov.au/industry/mining/mining-online-services/minesonlinemaps takes a little time to work out the layers on the maps but will give you some good info, Register to become a QDEX user, this will give you access to a lot of information.

Once you have 10 posts the PM system will open up & you will be able to send messages to other s here, I have some info that I'm happy to pass on & if you ever come to Townsville Have some info on a USB stick that will assist you .

Hi Anyway,
Might be worth a look around Clermont or Charters Towers. The legendary John Porter runs a shop in Clermont and can assist with lessons/hire etc.
There are 9 GPA's to check out as well and plenty of ground to cover all the best mate.

Hi fellas ended up stopping at clermont for a look and was lucky enough to find 3 small nuggets. A mate was on his way to rubyvale and asked me if I wanted to come for the drive. Only had the 2300 with me but worked a charm . took about 6 hours all up to find the three .will see if I can add a photo . thanks for the tip Goldhound . went to john porters shop and meet his wife , she was super nice and helpful.
