they were sitting in a bag with heaps of other junk..unfortunately a lot got broken over the years because they were all together in same bag. Its amazing what you find when you have a house clean up.

Photos 1,2,8,9,10 remind me of Biggenden mine stuff that I seen at the old servo going through there years and years ago, I don't think that that servo is even there anymore ,... used to be a fossicking spot above the creek next to the highway out from the mine where they used to dump stuff for people to go through ,... not any more for lotta years though now.(picked bare too).
Nice photography Kezz. :p

The top cluster is an odd looking one, never seen quartz grow like that and the pyrite sure does fool!
Is that a topaz or quartz crystal in the 2nd rock? Havnt seen peacock for a while while either, nice finds mate, glad you dug them up!

The wife took the pics silver i can't take the credit :) These were from a low grade gold mine up nth qld .. When they blew the iron ore, well i think it was iron ore there were a few crystal pockets in the wall. But they stopped us looking near the wall after a while just in case of loose rock from above.. Atomrat i have no idea what it is thats one reason for the pics too haha..i just thought they were pretty with the sparkly stuff at the time.

Here are some from Biggenden mine area.
First couple where bought from the old servo years and years ago.

All the rest were (i'm pretty sure) picked up at the mine dump on the highway at Rocky Creek south of Biggenden in the old days when it was a fossicking area filled every now and then by a truckload of goodies from the mine itself. :D
The next two photos are of the same rock from two different sides

And this last one was in the same box of rocks, so I am only assuming it came from there, but this one is different and I may be wrong in this instance.

You can certainly see the difference from the servo rocks, they were retrieved from the mine dump itself apparently.
When we got our rocks from the fossicking site it was already well and truly done over, and we were just picking up the scraps. :(
