Perth WA gems, quartz crystals

Hi all, it's great to be part of this community. I'm in Perth WA, and wondering if any Perthites know any spots in the hills around Lesmurdie etc where there might be something worth digging for, gems, quarts crystal? My 12 year old autistic son loves all these things and would love to go prospecting. Thanks

Unfortunately, you're on the wrong side of the country for much in the way of gemstones - the volcanic areas of the East Coast are much more productive. Anyway, have a look at the prior post on this subject below:
