Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and just want to introduce myself.
I started prospecting for gold when I was 16 thats 35 years ago. Back then you were allowed to use a dredge and myself and a few friends saved our money and brought a 4" submersible dredge which we used every weekend when we could get someone to take us down to a gully that had some gold. I continued prospecting for the next few years and then gave it away when i got married.
Since then, my son and his friend have been watching Gold Rush and have decided to give prospecting a try. They are currently building a high bank sluice like the one from this forum and are getting quite excited, the problem that they are coming up with is just some information on some areas, rivers around the Rockhampton and 1770 are central Queensland. I understand that nobody wants to give away there secret place, just some guidance to steer them in the right direction with a chance that they might find something.
We all know what it feel like when you see the gold for the first time, nothing comes close to it.
Thanks for help. Alex
