Hello out there Im new to the forum from east Gippsland and new to gold detecting. Just a couple of things I would like to ask if there is many who have found much gold in the tambo river. Thanks

And just to give people a bit of a idea about myself. Im semi retired I have a tip truck which I do a little bit of work and Ive just brought a caravan to try and find a bit of gold as I have to find something to take my time up instead of sitting around. So hello to all

The Tambo River is on the Exempted Stream list, meaning it can not be prospected.

Not 100% sure but think the Tambo may be on the "exempted" list of no go rivers, make sure you get a Miners Right, few bucks for 10 years.

Not from that side of the Yarra Yarra but plenty of options for panning/highbanking over your side of the Yarra Yarra (great name).

Great option to keep you busy in retirement .... panning is as simple and cheap as it comes, you can then gear up to sluices/highbankers and such later on (all about volume, great volume great reward).

Hey Yarra, I'm also in East Gippsland. There is a few threads on here you will find helpful, there is gold in many of the creeks in the hills throughout East Gippy...but finding a creek with a decent amount is the trick. You will find info on this forum if you do a search for Bullumwaal. Prospect Creek is not flogged out, despite it's popularity. :Y:
