Hi Jack, welcome. Where are you planning on going not that that matters, just getting out is great.
Have you looked thru our classified section and our sponsors list. They will help.
Jaros :p

You can order a starter pack online not too expensive where you get a couple of pans, snuffer bottles etc in the kit.

I recommend the Garret deluxe panning kit. $95 from memory and you get 3 pans, classifier, book, dvd, tweezers/magnifying glass, and 2 x storage vials...pretty good value and great gear

If you have an 'Aussie Disposals' store near you, they sell most of what you are looking for

Hey mate im 45mins away in gympie... you can buy your gear lil cheaper up here the coast charges too much...or online isoption.
I can help ya get started once your ready to find colour...good luck and welcome.

Gday jack,
Thursday is fine with me. I will be at victoria road entrance... ;)
Your guna get dirty and wet !! :D
Im going down 2moz do some landscaping.

A 14" or 15" Garrett pan & a snuffer bottle is a great start that will last you no matter how often or how into panning you'll get. $35 all up should see you set up with that.
A basic shovel, a spoon, something to scrape crevices clean with etc.
You'd be off to a good start.
Cheers & good luck
