Just received notification that 'Out N about in Tarnagulla' is on 5/10/2014 at (surprise) Tarnagulla Vic. For the researchers out there, this is a great weekend to 'dig into' this great, and still producing goldfield. They have token hunts, field talks/walks, historic displays, historical experts (David Gordon etc). I realise this is the weekend before the Laanecoorie Gold bash (which is about a 15 minute drive from Tarnagulla) so it may be a stretch for some folk time wise. The second history book of Tarnagulla will be on sale as well. Great day if you have never been. Very close to Bendigo, camping at Laanecoorie and Newbridge (footy ground) or free in the forests. The Tarnagulla C/P is now closed and also no fuel for sale. Pub is still open however. 
Fuel at Dunolly - 15 minutes away. If I was a betting man, I think you may find several old crusty prospectors just may stretch out their trip for a week!
