So I guess the above demonstrates that we should despise everyone else on the planet until that very moment they do something so grand, that it will earn our respect.
What a cynical point of view! I was brought up to respect our elders. To respect authority. To show respect for those around me.
Unless they prove unworthy otherwise. Not the other way round.
So yes, I guess that makes me an old fart .......... and bloody proud of it. :Y:

You can still be polite to people, but to me they need to prove themselves worthy of respect before they get any. :Y: :beer:
And yes I'm a young fart at 49.

Perhaps if you reversed your thinking you might get a better result O

It shouldn't have to be earned it's just plain old common courtesy, treat everyone as you would like to be treated, pretty simple. If someone rubs me up the wrong way they'll loose my respect until they genuinely apologise, if that doesn't happen I won't waste any more of my time worrying about them. And I'll back it in I'm on someone's banned list for reasons unbeknown to me, life fact we don't all get along.
