Went for a swing today and found a piece of an old kero push bike light from the 1920s

Hi nice find But its not a kero lite its a carbro lite {sorry how i spelt it } but u lite it up and have a bit of water in it
I think thats how it works i found one years ogo

You are correct mond , spelling also close . It was called a "carbide light"
Mate of mine lit one in his kitchen ( found at old shearers quarters ) Bloody thing exploded while we were having tea .
Needless to say ended up with a black ceiling , a very shitty wife and having to cook a second barbecue .
