Oiii You, The Lurkers out there ---

Well i get most of my information from internet in general,books,being out there.
I come here mostly for the community,the stories people tell,and to hopefully share some of my own hard won wisdom one day.

You say its not an us vs them thing but it sure does sound like it.
Sure paid members should get a little extra like rare maps ect.

Im not really sure what my point is i just feel like the unpaid members are being looked down upon and that doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy about this website.
I dont know maybe im reading it all wrong and im just being a princess.

Its a difficult one, I agree that we do need more of a private area, possibly for regular contributors to share info, but on the same token we need to continue encouraging new members to join and this is accomplished by them seeing an open and helpful group of like minded people.

I was one of the lurkers here and at that other forum for quite a while until I decided that this one had a good feel about it. I joined both forums, but choose to call this home for the time being.

Nuh, I did not want that to sound like a higher class type stick your nose up at em type thing.
What the original post I made was to attract more people in here and do the same as we all do. Hopefully this topic will raise enough interest to get more people to come along in and share their experiences, a bit of wisdom and camaraderie that we all enjoy.
Please do not think that I am wanting to split the forum up.
Just a suggestion.

The way things are going with those who are out to wreck this wonderful hobby that we have, It would be a great thing to have as many people on board to rally behind any one to stick it into them to stop us from being pointed out as being a bunch of bush wrecking red necks. NSW is so much a Nanny State now it needs a group to stand up and tell them the way it is.

What I understood about the "Voluntary" contribution was about is it was just that. The funds raised from it were to go back into the running cost's too keep it going. The raffles and such did generate a few funds and what the contributions did were to simply fill the gaps in.

And having a forum that is as well run by the Mod's is a way of first as all proves that we really are a motley crew who in the same token are responsible for our own actions.
