Hi all!
I'm new to this hobby of fossicking/prospecting! NSW based and keen to take my metal detector out for a spin. Have always been interested in minerals and pieces of the past. Still learning and trying my best to get the hang of understanding the rules and regulations of fossicking in my state. I've been wanting to explore this hobby ever since I was a little ankle-biter, and am wanting to go by the book both legally and respectfully. All advice on do's and don'ts, where I can and can't hobby-fossick, beginner tips, events/tours/trips for likeminded hobbyists, how to best enjoy digging and panning without disrespecting the land, etcetera is greatly appreciated!
Keen to connect with this community of explorers and mineral lovers!
Cheers, and to all - happy hunting!
Edit: Currently enjoying Gold Nugget Detecting youtube channel, trying to educate myself so I can enjoy this hobby to the fullest. All the rules can be confusing, but the allure of it all keeps me determined
