Newbie looking for Hervey Bay prospector

Hi all,
I had a customer named Dave who helped me out with some panning gear some time ago. I've had a play and come up with nothing thus far, still keen to get a small find.
I recently moved to Portland NSW and would like to get back in touch with David.
I know he is well known in the prospecting circles around Qld.
I am yet to find him and my first nugget, young fella bought me a beginners detector for Father's Day and keen to get out.
I see Wattle Flat seems to be a good local fossick, any other suggestion from anyone would be great. Thanks
Hoping to get out much more often.
