Hi all.
Bob is the name and hopefully, a bit of prospecting will be my aim.
Recently retired and started researching some Australian history.
Got hooked on the legend of Lasseters reef, and feel I should really know a bit about gold prospecting before I go to the NT to find the reef....lol.
So, here I am. An open book ready to learn.
Having read a few threads on this site, it seems that everyone here is genuinely interested in being outdoors and enjoying this great country,
with the gold apparently secondary and great if you find it.
Am looking forward to some intelligent informative chat.

Regards
Bob

Hi Marksman,
Nice to meet you.
Have already seen the Lasseter's Bones Doco, which prompted me to do more research.
I actually tracked down and spoke with Bob Lasseter at his home a couple of months ago.
Unfortunately, Bob is 90 odd and is receiving medical treatment regularly, so is not mounting any new expeditions
in the near future.
As per every other armchair treasure hunter, I think I found Laseeter's reef on Google (if it exists at all) but not south of the McDonnell Ranges.

Anyhow, thanks for the hint and maybe a new thread to begin a chat.

Regards

Bob

Welcome bob,, what part of oz are you from, and are you digger or do want to be a hippy swinger? :)

Hi Mudgee Hunter,

Thanks for your greeting.
From the Central Coast mate.
Am just retired, so just looking for something to fill in my time that does not cost a lot and might pay me something in return.
Love the aussie bush and if it pays.....well and good.

Also, ultimately, I would love to get involved in any organized visit or discussion in search of Lasseters Reef, as I believe it is a great Australian legend that had some basis in fact.

Regards
Bob
