Hi guys,

I've been lurking in the background reading all the great stories on the forum and probably should have introduced myself earlier. Anyway my name is Rob and I'm in Perth WA.

I've been out a few times with a GPX 4500 but haven't found any gold yet. Lots of the usual trash and a few old bottles but maybe next time will break the drought. If not its a good reason to spend time in the bush and sink a few beers at the end of the day.

Keep up the good work.

Rob

Not as easy as every one says hey Rob ? best of luck as well. Learn the detector and the noises it makes, this is the key. Hang in there you will find it and when you do it will be sweet no matter what size. Welcome aboard.

Thanks. Having watched a lot more YouTube videos and hearing the slightest warble in the threshold turn into a target I think I've missed a lot. Fishing for the future you might say.

I am a big believer in this, I am positive I have walked away from targets in hindsight. There is a saying "dig everything" however when you are shattered and it is like concrete and you just want a drink... my suggestion make sure you mark these spots with your GPS and maybe in the future you can come back and re-check or re-dig ?

Went away for the weekend and even had my mate confirm three holes I had, he said no to all three, where as I reckon the middle one had a tone. The other two were more like ground noise. So knowing the detector and sounds is key. Otherwise doesn't matter where you go as you don't know when you are walking over it anyway !
