Hi all, after working overseas for several years I have decided to retire. Faced with how to fill out my time I decided to reserect my fathers Whites Coinmaster 6000 Di pro. Went down to the local beach and found several spoons, sinkers, a two dollar and twenty cent coin, a bottle opener and several other trinkets. I have since ordered a Makro Gold Racer Pro Pack and should have it by next week. I am hoping to hook up with someone local to do some week day detecting, at beaches, historic sites and goldfields.
I am also interested in a detector club active in the western suburbs?
Hopefully someone with some experience may take pity on me and show me the ropes. I am no spring chicken but still active enough to handle a full day out. My other interests are fishing and spearfishing.

Welcome to PA BillS, you should be able to find someone to go with from here, all are pretty good blokes (and some ladies) and are willing to lend a hand

now all you need is the retirement nugget... :D start scratching around mate.. it,s out there someplace :)

Bill, still use the coinmaster in the meantime, you won't ever regret the experience you get from that startup for the rest of your life ! ;)
play hard. :D

Thanks silver,
sorry for the delay in reply. Picked up my Makro Gold Racer today and I took your advice using the Coinmaster as best I could. The Makro looks a fair bit easier to use though I only had a short time to play with it but seems very straight forward.
Also got the Nokta pointer. Not sure how they perform or are rated.

Welcome Bill. If you're planning to get into the GT, then watch for posts from Mardymoose, Dig'n-it, dam it, Chewy, Scrounger, Chuky boy, Walshie, SteelPat and many others. Many would be happy to show you about and are great guys. All the best with the gold (inter alia).
