That's Awesome Greenhornet. And amazingly you mentioned the camel Syphilis.

My father who passed away just a couple of weeks ago at the ripe old age of 89, was in North Africa with the British Army in the late 1940's and early 1950's as part of the British Peacekeeping Forces. He couldn't stand Camels, as he said they stank, spat, were stubborn, and he insisted, often had Syphilis. I always thought he was pulling my leg or talking a load of old tosh whenever he mentioned it. He even insisted that some of the Arabs had bad eyes from diseases that they caught/shared between themselves and the Camels, through dubious interactions......

Well I'll be buggered........

Country people doing what Country people have to do.

Not pleasant but necessary.

While City folk complain about the price of fuel and electricity around the BBQ whilst cooking the farmers steaks & chops.

RS
More likely lentils and veggie burgers. There generally the ones who complain about these things and make the most noise. :N:

My understanding is that as the camels and man have such a close relationship in the native use countries for thousands of years,
and the camels being such an important creature for transport, food, and clothing - things just got shared between the two of them by contact,
and consumption.

Koala's have koala chlamydia.

Like horses, follow a camel to water.

Sadly they are feral and do not belong in Australia, but they are very uniquely biologically adapted to that environment of desert.
