hi all
i'm new to this forum and just wanted to say hello
I'm in east vic and not to far to the gippsland gold fields but many of the rivers there are no go zones for prospecting
i heard on the grapevine that Eildon nat/park may soon be open to prospecting and detecting
the water ways tho, will be restricted to panning only
and the days of the highbankers in vic could soon be numbered

lets just hope this doesn't happen

so all and all hello
Kane

Welcome to the forum and YES!.... the ABC news report i heard Friday mentioned opening up the National Parks and easing restrictions on waterways but the concern is that some prospecting activities are incompatible with conservation and said activity could be restricted to pan pick and shovel (and hopefully a small steam sluice) to cause the least disturbance to the environment.
