New icon button thingies at top of page

Looks good, if all else fails for people then hover over the icon for the title text to show

I think I came in as you were updating those earlier Nugget. Got to wondering where the main buttons were disappearing to, then noticed them up top lol!
Glad the Home button was included. Makes life easy when you're half way scrolled down through a long thread.

Is there an option to remove it?
Yes please it's so slow to load now.
My account is currently being shaped by telstra and has been all week which wasn't an issue yesterday with the forum it was still responsive even though I was being shaped.
Now the forum is drawing icons one at a time on every page load it's so slow.
It's behaviour of moving with you or sticking to the top as you scroll is also hiding the post edit box on my iPad so I have to get out of the edit mode scroll down to see what I have typed and then go back into edit mode to add more.
Nugget if it is not too much trouble could you please give us an option to turn the icons off?

There's no option to remove it but I assure you the icons are not the cause of your slow page loading. The icon images combined equal a mere 3.5KB which can can be downloaded in the blink of an eye even on the slowest connection, they're also cached meaning you only download them once during a session. I've just tested the forum loading times and it appears as good as it ever was.
I'm not sure what you mean by the post edit box being impacted by the menu, I just took a look on the wife's iPad and can't see an issue with it. If you could post a screenshot, I'll see whats going on, but I suspect it may have something to do with your connection being shaped.
Feedback from other members would be appreciated, but please give me a chance to iron out any bugs before asking for me to remove it

Please don't take any of this as criticism Nugget I am your biggest fan. I am only trying to help you iron out the wrinkles with this.
I also develop websites, iPhone and iPad applications and run my own IT consultancy business.
I may have given you the wrong impression with the shaping. The shaping is my new mobile internet device from Telstra, I am on their top plan 15GB but this thing chews bandwidth as I have my iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air all connected to it so I have one bill fir all my data. So I have about ten days each month where they will shape me. Unfortunately that is their top plan they don't give me an option to buy more, if I could I would.
Anyhow once the forum has finished doing whatever it is doing with the icon toolbar at the top the rest is as it was yesterday quite quick it's just that initial load of the page every time. If I drill into a thread after that it's quite quick.
Here is it running under Google Chrome instead. I normally use Safari. You can see it trying to draw the icons.

Interestingly under chrome the image upload page doesn't behave as it does under Safari. Safari will insert the image at the point in the text the cursor is on. In Chrome the window remains open and doesn't close or insert the image. The three entries above were cut and pasted from the window one at a time to show you.
Here I will fix the entries so they display:
Also interestingly the edit box behaves differently I don't get the icon toolbar hiding the text like in Safari.

No offense taken gcause, I'm always happy to work through the bugs.
In terms of the images not loading I'd say it's more to do with how the specific browser is constructing the page given the bandwidth restriction, quite possibly the page is timing out before it has time to fully load all components (maybe there's a background service chewing into your bandwidth at the moment?). I've tested several modern desktop web browsers and all load the forum fine.
I've now included an @media entry into the CSS file which I hope will resolve the menu issue. If you could refresh the page and check again I'm hoping the menu will stay at the top of the page (no free floating). I've discovered that IOS doesn't play well with position fixed so I've opted to turn it off on all iPads.
Let me know the results.

I just dont like the fat bar at top of the screen, the same as i dont like other software trying to offer/install toolbars to use.
