Got a good run at it today, started at 10am, dug and hauled 7 loads, highbanked and panned out a short run to make sure the wash had colour then ran the rest. all cons panned out and finished by 5pm.

Didn't have to use the drill as the wash didn't have much clay in it so saved time there. Going to use the wheel barrow tomorra so I only have to trolley the wash in buckets half way and load the wheelbarrow cause the rest is downhill

Todays yella...

That looks a little like this

Interesting hey! I think this came from a fracture somewhere out at Dittmer. Found it in a washout after the Cyclone Dylan.

Thanks people...yeah it does feel good to get some nice little chunky's ey. I have been doing sooooo much work on this spot just setting up and building dams to recirculate water and a puddler dam to break down the clays.

Sorting out problems like...

Foot valve filtration because of the tiny sticks and roots and leaf debree clogging spray bars result in irratic flow rates. (ends glued, not good)

Using a dam for puddling isn't very efficient because I know that as it breaks down and I mix it the gold is dropping and the bigger problem from this is there is no bottom and its more clay, so the bottom and sides break down and I sorta hardly get anywhere

Ive added 3 x 90 degree riffles in the sluice and split the expanded and the miners moss into 3 sections so ive had to retune it all again and retune it to running clay (most the gold drops in the first section). It requires heaps of flow and slow feed rate, ive lost lots of gold (from low flow clogging expanded riffles and using muddy water so cant see in operation) and time working this out. Ive also extended the hopper with a big plastic tub to deal with the over spray.

Today I dug about 0.7 cubes of clay and separated it into piles split by depth and colour change. 1 meter down it turns really grey/blue so I thought ide grab a 2/3 of a bucket of that and filled it with water to break down and every hour or so went and jazzed it a bit with the shovel.
at the end of the day it was 90% slurried so I could pan it properly and get a thorough yield estimate. I got 0.1 grams out of that and was pretty happy :) .

Tomorrow I will be doing the same thing with the other depths and seeing if its better higher or lower. The clay is a decomposition of conglomerants consisting of many materials that im sluicing.

Puddler system (non mechanical)...atleast 1 x 44 gallon steel drum cut long ways for starters, but to get anywhere I would need 4 in half, 4 for sluicing each day and another 4 breaking down so 4 are allways full.

The white sand is back again  but this time ive found the culprit...pics below...

mega interesting...you must have a pretty nice collection of specimens now ey...nice

This is my favourite piece from my tailings so far, I have no idea what it is but it glitters like stars...

Hey Scott, The speciman you have there looks like a a piece out of a quartz lode that has an inclusion of the country rock that encased the load. The inclusion looks like it sandstone that had begun to go plastic & metamorphose into a low grade quartzite or schist.

Jethro.

Hi mate, thanks again for the geo analysis...would you believe that bucket of top soil puss I took on the way back had about 30 colours in it...

Hmm better head back in there before the tracks are closed for the season. I don't fancy the walk from the gate. Did you have a look at the stone we got of that ore paddock.

yeah, some nice little bits but no visible gold...talking about ore, have you read the history on the bethanger ore problem?...ive been told there is still 100 tonne of ore tailings just sitting there ey

HTTY & Jen58 yes its most likely mica that has started to align along the foliation planes in the sandstone quartzite / schist.

Telstra box expanded mesh?

 ...funny you say that as there is a Telstra box across the road, but I bought it from a scap joint in albury

only processing 6 buckets (2/3 full) each day now, clay wasn't quite silted and I didn't mix it but still got enough to be happy for my 3hrs effort...

Very nice colour there 20

thanks mate, seem to have a good little thing going now...I need more buckets 8.( = more gold...I spent as much time panning the cons as it did to sluice it so im not ganna do a clean out for a couple of days to make it worth the time. ive finished the bottom 3rd of that hole so now ive got some of the middle soaking...results sunday night ;)

doing something different somewhere else tomorrow as well so hopefully might get some different yella...(hope)

Now your just showing off! Haha great gold mate, I'll happily be your offsider any time.
