I came here from Pomland in the mid 60s and got citizenship in 1974, when Gough changed the rules for Brits.
My citizenship test was to fill in a form and send it to the relevant govt dept. (no cost, postage paid)
My ceremony was to open up an envelope a few weeks later in which was an "evidentiary certificate of citizenship" akin to a form letter, nothing fancy. The only raising of my right hand was to lift a beer and after a few of them, swear. :beer: erfect:
