We have signed off on our agreement with the local aborigines today, and now have approval to use machinery on our new lease! Bring on the big toys! :D

I reckon you guys would make a good crew for Gold Rush Meekatharra ;)
We are going to doze some sections of laterite and calcrete first to get some $ for my crushing plant. There are three old shafts (60ft) onto a ore load the old timers found that we are hoping to extend. It wasn't rich enough for them but should be good enough for us with today's prices. Should be great fun!

Exciting news DD!
I'm very happy for you's.
Looking forward to hearing how you go with it all.

Grats DD,

I hope the holes the old timers left, and the ones you and your partners make have lots of gold in them!

Very exciting times for you

Cheers, Tone

Just the missus and I Tone. Resonably confident as we have already detected several ounces of nuggets deep in the calcrete. So I know there will be more once we take the surface off. It's on the same greenstone belt as a huge open cut down the road which is always a good sign too. I will make a video when we start scraping.

Get into it DD and hit it hard.... :)
Cant wait to see the vids and pics.
The best of luck to you guys, you deserve it with all the hard work and research you put into it.

We will be dozing and detecting in layers with some going through the dryblower for the alluvial. For the hard rock we will be using a trailer mounted Keene R46 crusher like this one except it's 13hp and has tungsten carbide wear parts ( http://www.keeneeng.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=RC46&Category_Code=RC ) feeding a Knelson concentrator which will feed a shaker table ( http://www.keeneeng.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ST1&Category_Code=RE ). The system is only designed for about 1 ton per hour but thats plenty as there is only the two of us. Expecting between 1-2 ounces per day.

nice

are you going to mount it all on a trailer or truck so you can take it home with you each day or make a lockup shed on site ?

ps . is the crusher petrol engine powered or are you going electric drives on everything and run it all off a diesel genset ?

The shaker table will be mounted inside a container for stability. The crusher is petrol powered and on a trailer so it can be wheeled in and out of the container for storage. We camp on site with the gear while using it, then get the container moved to a storage yard in town when we are go back to the east coast for summer.

ok

are you going to use a mini excavator to scrape off the overburden as well as loading the hopper for feeding the crusher ?

will you use just a plain hopper with a gate at the bottom to feed the crusher , or a powered feed conveyor under the hopper ?

If you want a cheap entry you could load from the excavator buckets on to a steel table with sides thats positioned close to the crusher , then just push the rock into the crusher with a rake or shovel . that way you get to rescue any big nuggets before they get hammered ;)

i see second hand gear come up for sale sometimes so let me know what you're looking for if you dont already have what you want

cheers :D

I'm using a bobcat to scrape the surface, looking at conveyers to feed the crusher, might buy this backhoe too if it's still available once I get the $ together. Ideally I need a D9 dozer aswell but can't afford one yet.

Highly unlikely to get nuggets in ore so not worried about crushing them, in most ores the gold is not even visible until crushed and concentrated. The nuggets are in calcrete and laterite which we will be detecting.
