Been putting this together this week after work.
The basics are there just gotta build the legs and finish the internal brackets etc.....and pipe it up.

The measurements are pretty much the same except the feeder is removabel for easy transport.
I have used miners moss under some gal step tread for the catchment area.
I just reckon the step tread will create lovely little riffles that will trap all the good stuff.
Hopefully I will finish it by Friday and go get some dirt from the local creek (found some historical records that show this creek panned well for gold in the 1800s) and bring it home for a test.

Any suggestions for water flow rate?

Any comments etc would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hey Shane
Looks okay mate ! flow wise not too much with that type of set up & you will most likely need to clean up more often than the standard Wal banker, as long as you see the gravel dancing behind the riffle section or in between the mesh this shows it is working right, can I suggest you make a standard set of riffles to test.
cheers

Good suggestion.
Ill go visit the Bakery tomorrow and grab an old bread crate.
Ill make both types, take dirt from the local creek and distribute it evenly over both types and see how they perform.

Cheers

As for flow rate i have about 20mm of water depth over the riffels, running super quick......

I use the same tread plate when I'm in the clay. Its the old blue telstra phone box side. The boys here are spot on, it really does need high flow to clear but my banker is larger so I'm no help to you with flow rates I'm certainly no expert at rifle design but i found using my crate first up on the really heavy stuff it just became a mess. So looking around in my yard i thought I'd give it a go. Good classification will help, but that said it always does right and in a walbanker that should be a breeze. Often I'll take the mats and run the material again with the crate in, and again it works a treat. A fifty fifty setup may be good but that breadcrate on its own is a truly effective system with the right material. Nice looking banker mate great build.
