My favorite book is "loaming for gold" by Sam Cash he was born in 1872 on Trunkey creek NSW and raised as a gold miner. He moved to WA in 1898 and became the finder of 100 plus gold mines including the famous "Bronzewing mine" Well worth the read if you're serious about finding gold lodes. I have prospected with his grandson (who is well into his 60`s) many time over the past 14 years. Nice pans!. Heres a couple of nice pans from last year

Just finished reading the book and can't wait to get a chance to put all that theory into practice. They are a couple of nice looking pans you have there...I can only dream of seeing that many colours in my pan.

Thanks for sharing

Matt

the top pan is the fines and the bottom pan is the coarser gold. This was from a "near surface" lode capping that was found with a metal detector and was dug to a depth of 12ft (so far ;) )

Not sure if its available on Kindle, I like having the book anyway, I have read it many times and even just last week, I finally discovered the meaning of "red bars" with help from the book. Thats only one example. I think the body of information refers to the geological conditions of WA although, the systematic loaming program promoted by Sam Cash is pretty much universal in its deployment and effectiveness. He provides accurate calculations for gradient and uphill spread (which is very important). Very good reading
