A mate and I where out west for a dig this weekend. We decided to stop off at Innot Hot Springs on the way home and have a quick spec around the Mt. Gibson fossicking area.
The road in is absolutely stuffed!! We have had a good Wet up here this year and the road is the worst I have ever seen it. The glittering star diggings are only accessible (barely) from the bottom. The Patricia diggings are accessible for now but the track behind the mountain that links the two areas is not for the feint of heart. The decent from the glittering star diggings is completely impassible with huge wash outs and the ground is extremely unstable.
My rig has a 3" suspension lift, 2" over-size tyres, 2" body lift and air-lockers and even with all this I still had a few heart racing moments. Best 4x4 challenge I have had in years but if your driving a stock rig take extreme care!!!
