Below are my finds from a couple days of digging at an old town site in Central Queensland.
Some of the highlights include:
- 1914 three pence in good condition (a scarce coin)
- 1912, 1917 and 1924 pennies; and
- and old pocket watch - most likely belonging to a railway station master
Also, one of the sites was a lot of fun to detect as there were a number pennies literally sitting on or just below the surface. It was nice not having to dig in the rock hard ground.
