hi every one looking to purchase my first metal detecter im looking at a second hand eureka gold just wanting to know if this is a good buy for a first gold detecter as have around $1000 to spend

Depends on what tyoe of detecting you plan on doing mate. If you're chasing gold a sd200o or sd2100 would be your best mobey ubder a grand. If you want to chsse relecs and small disseminated gold a vlf maybe a gmt or alike will serve you well cant comment on the eureka havent used one but was told it was a toy when I first looked at them. Apparently the decrimination is amazing thought.
