all pans have their positives and negatives, I like to take my metal pan for sampling because I can wash large samples and my screens fit inside quite well, the benefit of metal over plastic is you can leave a meatl pan sitting on the bottom of a creek with little material in it and it wont move whereas the plastic will move away. Big negative for me is on a hit day, you leave your pan in the sun dry for 15 minutes and when ya pick it youweee they get hot.... cant beat a Garrett super sluice for an allrounder.
