Metal detecting in the nsw south coast

Has anyone tried or had any luck metal detecting around Nelligan and surrounds?

Plenty of small nuggets in the region kleinman...especially in the Mogo area. Also some good colour half way up to shallow crossing for those prepared to push their way up the creeks. The only draw back in the area, is that it's hard to spend a day in there without picking at least a few ticks and leaches off you. :/
