Put it straight together after work to go for a test swing at the park directly across the road from my house. Spent about 1 hour there with the daughter
A bit of the usual junk

What was the reason you got the US version?

Just personal choice i guess, i like the depth indicator shown in inches. I like the fact is something a bit different to the norm :D (here in AUS anyway)
And since i am not interested in iron relics, just coins and jewlery ect i dont need the extra descrimination at the lower end notches. I am happy just to exclude them all.
I am not 100% sure if this is how it works but i am guessing utilizing less notches on the iron allows more of a spread at the higher end? Maby someone could confirm?
This could be the reason why my initial id number tests are different from yours DSA??
Oh and i like the bell tone set for 75 and above ;)
Capability wise, pretty sure there the same machine internals so just personal choice :Y:

Nope, fair enough. I wasn't trying to sound critical at all, I was just curious.

That could be the reason, those numbers are accurate though. On my machine anyway which is abit bizzare.

Best of luck with it in the future, hope you snag yourself something real nice with it soon!

We could also meet up for a swing one day too and do some comparisons between the VDIs on the 400i vs 300.

I'm at Marion way, but I go all over metropolitan Adelaide to have a dig

Ahhhhh, You just wanted to be different! It is like driving nice big USA vehicle with LHD! !!! !

 haha pretty much capa !!!

I would be interested in a meetup DSA :Y:
Being 600kms away i dont get to Adelaide all that often but will let you know when i am next :)

Funny story,
when i took the young one across to the park with me for the first swing i had a 50cent in my pocket to "bait" the ground and get her interested if we weren't finding much.
Defiantly didnt need that

Oh wow that's pretty far

But yeah just let me know whenever, I'm always keen for a swing and a chat, and maybe a cheeky pint :Y:

Quick hunt this morning befor the heat at a park

At the moment i am digging all the signals to get used to the machine but i will start relying more on the id bumbers and try to limit the aluminum pull tabs and 5 cents i get.
Only hunt number 2 but so far so good

Went back to the same park as yesterday, got a few more coins for the collection. Also managed to find 2 junk rings. :D
Unfortunately the first one i gave to the 4yo to wear and now thats lost somewhere between the park and home for someone else to find :p
But i got a photo of the second

And of course the toy car lol

Oh damn, abit warm yeah!

We don't get that sort of sustained heat down in the big smoke :p and thank god for that

We get a few days every summer in the 40s but mainly mid-high 30s.

I've always maintained though, above 35 it's just f##kin' hot regardless of what it reaches aha

Done some testing of various coins for the VDI and also possible depth.
Please note this is for my Garrett Ace 300 (not the 300i)
All of the test were done on sensitivity 7 (out of 8)which is what i normally run in the parks.
