Lead Thing-a-ma-jig

Hey Guys found this one the other day, threw it out thinking it was junk then recollected it today to realise it actually is something and not just a chunk of pipe like i thought.

Item is made of lead and quite heavy, Has a fox or possibly wolf ontop, thinking perhaps a handle of some sort, has been suggested a cane top but Im thinking too small?

Found in 1960's town approx 10-15m away from an old church.

Any help appreciated like usual!

I'd say the handle off a walking stick perhaps?

Think you will find its off an umbrella. My grandfather had one that almost matches it perfectly

thanks heaps XIV that makes so much more sense. Alot of people were saying walking stick but I wasnt convinced due to its size. Would you possibly have a time period? All the coins pulled from the area so far vaired from 1906 through to 1947

looks like after a decent clean up it could be bronze not lead like first thought.

Would lean towards a walking cane handle, they were not actually a walking stick as in aiding an elderly person, more so an aristocracy item.
