Has anyone tried to run a LeTrap sluice box as a powered sluice or highbanker?
I just brought one and I'm looking for ideas to set it up.
Or
Has anyone used one as a stream sluice just wondering what type of results you may have got?

I'm pretty sure there are a couple of suppliers that do a powered setup as a buy so it is definitely possible, as a river sluice its quite long and would need some cutting at the entry end, that wahl would need to come out, i imagine it would need some good flows to keep it working and be hard to remove without unsettling the riffle capture (I'm thinking like the McKirks are), put together a highbanker with a box and grizzly/classifier would be my thoughts to keep it more stable, and you would need a tap to reduce the flow before clean up (again like the AM style) . There is a boss conversion or two on here in other threads for some inspiration in the AM highbanker conversions, I'll be looking at this thread to see your thoughts and others but i think a river sluice setup with this would frustrate you, after all if you're going to classify might as well get flow and production out of a banker.

Thanks Goldtarget. I'm waiting on my stand for it to be delivered anytime now. I'll keep in mind what you said about water flow when cleaning up. I'm thinking about making my header box/grizzly out of a plastic tub, so to keep the weight down and use it to carry supplies on them longer walks. Trying to keep the weight down on this setup for portability as my last highbanker pump combination was far to heavy.

Under one of the dry washer topics it actually had a link where they had set up exactly what you are taking about...it was a frame built of wood the pics seemed very interesting, and i thought of this topic immediately...i don't know how to provide the link but I'll get you the relevant info so you can check it out, seemed they had figured it out and worked quite well. Found it. Gcause has a bellows style drywasher topic in diy, post 11, first link (billandlindasprospecting.com) navigate to that link and its down the right hand side under letrap highbanker. Hope there's some inspiration there bud.

I've had a couple of people request them for their trommels,

they were really happy with them.

I did 1 for myself also, i've only used it once but it did catch the fine gold, and is easy to clean out.

alot like the angus mackirk sluices.

I did put some nomad matting and expanded mesh up the top of the sluice to stop the fines from blowing out.
