For those that followed this I hope it was a decent read. Hopefully another prospector out there gets inspired to check out up close some of out gold history and sites. Although tired I had a great time and could spend many more days along the journey. Thanks for reading. GT.

looks like fun - Adelong is an awesome place - but it terms of panning I have heard you really need to know a spot which hasn't been thrashed.

I finally got around to panning out the spoils! Bloody black sands are a nightmare but the story feels incomplete without the money shots. Hopefully next time there will be some grander pans. For those still interested here we go!

Eldorado on the way up. Couple hours sluicing.

NSW location located via Cooma highbanking and panning. Gosh I wish we kept the lot.

Eldorado on the way home couple hours highbanking.

Great adventure you've let us join you on GT,
your kids will have wonderful long lasting memories
to pass onto their kids which is so good and a grounding
in life for what's important.
Don't ever stop doing what your doing.
Top work and keep enjoying life.
Cheers Steve :)

Just read your post now GT, loved it mate and I felt like I was there.
Now you've got me thinking about planning a 2 week trip for later in the year.
Thanks for sharing.

Cheers guys Thanks for the nice comments. I'm all for getting out and having a look across this great nation.

Pete, go for it mate. You won't be disappointed. I'd only say if you do,having some structure and contacts well ahead of time will serve you well. Appealing to any locals or people who visit the areas you want to explore is also a recommendation, some great info hit my inbox on pm here when I asked that will be really helpful in future hunts. Once your there stay friendly and you never know what you might find. Good luck and good gold to you mate.

The undisclosed area that you mention is a place that is on my bucket list this year. It is only 1.5 hours drive for me.
Top story and I myself am hoping to suss out a few places around Delegate that have been recommended by my friends from there.
By the time you come across again, I will have some haunts for you that we can both go to on private property.
Top story.

Great share GT

You are a fine linguist and I enjoy reading your posts , I sense Australian pride and a genuine love
of this magnificent country in which we live. Our not so grey nomad trip kicks off in March and after
a few weeks in the Golden Triangle we will be heading to Eldorado , I am very interested in the history
of the area as we found out recently of my family trees branches reaching back to the Byrnes of Sebastapol / Woolshed
area and would dearly love to find and detect the site of the old Byrne hut , as well as the area where Ned and the boys
tried their hand at prospecting in a failed attempt at going legit for a while. Any advice or tips on where to go for a swing and sluice greatfully accepted as due diligence now begins in the purchase of either a river sluice or small one man high banker for the trip .

Cheers and thanks for sharing

Thanks GT , I was enjoying the read so much I was disappointed when your trip was over . Hope you keep doing these sort of write ups in your future adventures mate.

Awesome post mate, ive been to a couple of those places and it really felt as if i was there along for the ride,

The boss myself and the kids, are on doing a trip this year once we organize getting a camp trailer, so ill have to do a travel diary to share with you guys.
Thanks for the post man, very inspiring.

Cheers
Ryan

Again thanks guys. If anyone is heading to any of the named areas send a pm, can be mighty handy having some direction in a new place I was winging it mostly, more recon than chasing. There's something deeply satisfying about even a tiny amount of gold from somewhere new. I don't pretend to be an expert, just a guide. With the interest expressed I might start taking a few more pics and putting some detail of my digs that happen a bit closer to home, I'm not really into self promotion but if it provides some entertainment value I can oblige.
