Bahahahaha nooooo. Sadly I haven't found it, but I got a bit bored last night, and thought I'd watch an ep or 2 of the old Bush tucker man on youtube. Just happened to come across 1 about Lassiters reef I hadn't seen.

Well yesterday actually but I only just clicked today, but Lewis, or Harold as he would later be known by Lassiter, of Lasiters reef fame was born in 1880 27th sept.
Yeah ya can say that again. Lol Bloody fascinating story though. Not just about the reef but also the man. Obviously he was a bit of a bullshitter, but then elements of the story make sense and fit. If there is a reef out there, hard to believe it hasn't been found given all we know. It's not even a confirmed fact that he died out there. He had already faked his death at least once before and assumed a new identity. Then certain people in the know, afterwards trying to launch mining operations and canvas investors.... I've just ordered the dvd of Lassiters bones. The more I learn about this the more I realise I don't know.
I finished the book yesterday. Having a bit of time to digest everything, I'm going to read it again I reckon. Top book. I had made my mind up at several times that Lassiter was telling the truth. I had also made my mind up that he was a fraudster and it was all bs at several times. Now, I know Harry Lassiter faked his own death at least once before. That he was married at least 3 times but never divorced. Had lived in America and was involved in the Mormon religion. Was allegedly seen and recognized in Salt lake city Utah acting as a mormon priest after his reported death in the outback. When confronted with his identity the man claimed to be a half brother to Harry. Despite several key members of the expedition denouncing Lassiter as a fraud, they independently tried to search further after the failed expedition. Bob Buck who allegedly found Lassiters body buried in a shallow grave, said he brought back Harrys dentures, but an aborigine who was with him was adamant when questioned later that the skull had teeth, and Bob Buck wouldn't sign a stat dec swearing it was Harry, saying he couldn't be sure if the body was that of a white or black... I have bought the dvd Lassiters bones. It's due to be delivered tomoz. I'm really looking forward to watching it. It's a story we may never know what really happened out there, but even recently some more of the questions have been answered. I'm sure there's a lot more to the story than is common knowledge.

Thanks Nightjar. Warren Brown mentions this site in his book as THE place for all Lassiter related info. He actually made it sound almost intimidating. Lol I'll have to have a look at it. Cheers Andy.
