I think it highlights yet again that we know so little about the yellow stuff and where it comes from, or in fact helps reveal that it comes from many different origins. That Rams horn gold specimen was quite a beautiful piece, and obviously formed so differently from say the Latrobe nugget, or the hand of faith. :goldnugget:
 
We do get wire gold here - eg I have seen nuggets of it from Cloncurry, and as a teenager collected some from underground hard-rock gold mines still operating then in the now outer northern suburbs of Melbourne (I still have a small piece from there).
 
I have found a few pieces of wire gold,one I call a T. rex tooth in the rams horn wire gold and another of wire gold that weaves in and out of the host rock and sits up like a cobra,
